About
I am a clinical mental health counselor in the state of Ohio. Over the last several years, I have worked on building relationships with individuals, families, and couples across the lifespan to help them move forward past the things they wished to change. For me, counseling is a collaborative and engaging process where I hope to guide you in making strides towards a higher quality of life. I believe in a calm, open approach where I work to truly understand where you are at in order for us to tackle what is bothering you and empower you to collaboratively make change. I believe in the healing power of humor, equality, and kindness, all of which I hope you will find sprinkled throughout our sessions. Through your choice to work with me, we will work on developing coping strategies, techniques, and therapeutic goals to restore balance to your life. Clinical Experiences and Approach During my time in grad school at Kent State University, I worked with individuals and couples across the lifespan to gain awareness and personal growth. I began my post-collegiate career in 2015 where I worked in the emergency room at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, which my training allowed me to assist a wide-range of mental health disorders and assist families in times of crisis. Much of my last 4 years has been spent working in the Eating Disorder clinic at NCH; there, I treated both family and individual treatment models for treating eating disorders, body image issues, and various mood, anxiety, and trauma concerns. In session, I work to create a non-judgmental space to make individuals feel comfortable with opening up and making treatment individual to you. I am to learn about the unique aspects of yourself that make you who you are in order to best treat you. I adapt components of branches of therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy to meet your needs and develop new and effective strategies. My ultimate goal is to empower you to meet your goals and feel you have control back in your life. In training for EMDR (for adults).
