Areas of expertise
I am a generalist by training, which means that I work with adults struggling with a range of issues, such as mood, anxiety, disordered eating, grief and loss, trauma, relationships, life transitions, emotion dysregulation, and questions about identity. Specialty areas I hold however, based on my clinical and training experiences, are listed below.
The approach I take in my work is relationally-based and from a feminist perspective. About Dr. Folger
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio. I earned my M.A. in clinical psychology from the University of Dayton and my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Miami University. Much of my research during graduate school focused on increasing understanding of the impact that interpersonal violence and loss have on individuals, as well as factors that contribute to various outcomes, including distress, growth, and resiliency.
I have trained or worked at a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, hospital-based settings, and community mental health.
